Let's stop for a minute and soak up the scenery here. It’s our last big view before we reach our final two stops just ahead. Spread out before you in the distance… just beyond the old airplane hangars that once served Hamilton Field where military planes of many kinds took off and landed for fifty years… are the new wetlands we've seen up close and from many angles. We hope you return in every season…especially the winter when migrating waterfowl give life to the sky… and fill the open space with many sights and sounds. But remember, mammals live here, too. If you're lucky…especially in the evening or early morning… you may see deer grazing…. or a coyote or gray fox on the prowl for a bite to eat. Rodents, rabbits and unsuspecting birds are on their menu. You’re almost to the end of the line. Walk downhill a short distance… look for avian homes hiding in the trees…and we'll tell you who lives there.
